Document summary

This policy explains publication, edits, reports, corrections, removal, and the distinction between user views, staff replies, and official decisions.

Scope

This policy applies to suggestions, comments, reviews, user-contributed articles, and official replies. Cup Code editorial content follows a separate writing, review, and approval workflow.

Source identity

The interface distinguishes user, staff, official response, final decision, and status update. A staff account does not make every comment a Cup Code position unless marked as an official response.

Publication standards

Content must be relevant, understandable, and not copied in a way that infringes rights. Correct factual claims when reliable evidence appears and do not present rumor as fact.

Editing and history

Authors may edit during the stated period. Afterwards, an edit marker is shown and important items retain version history. A suggestion’s meaning must not be changed after receiving votes without a material-change notice or new version.

Review and removal

We use the least action needed to remove harm, such as requesting an edit or hiding an attachment instead of deleting a full discussion. Intent, context, impact, and recurrence are considered. Opinions are not removed merely because they criticize Cup Code.

Corrections

If official content contains a material error, we correct it and state the correction and date. Internal versions preserve prior text and history is not silently rewritten.

Reports

Reports offer specific reasons such as abuse, personal data, content theft, misinformation, or vulnerability. Repeated malicious reporting is a violation, but a good-faith report is not penalized merely because it is rejected.

Appeal and restoration

Recoverable deletion is retained for a defined period to support appeal and investigation, then deleted or retained under an obligation or legal hold. If an appeal succeeds, content is restored and the decision is explained.
