Quick Start

Prepare the experience before entering the psychological horror loop. The game relies on sound, darkness, and player response, so first-run settings matter.

  • Read the health warning before playing, especially if you are sensitive to flashing, motion, or intense stress.
  • Adjust brightness so the environment stays readable without removing the intended darkness.
  • Use headphones at a moderate volume if comfortable, because directional audio is central to the experience.
  • Take regular breaks and avoid playing in a completely dark room if that causes strain.
  • Remember that this is a narrative psychological horror game with no traditional combat or weapons.

Core Systems

THE RAM'S EYE is about surviving distorted perception, not fighting danger with weapons. Each system supports the child's fear, confusion, and vulnerability.

  • The Panic System changes vision, sound, camera behavior, and environment rules as fear rises.
  • Close Eyes gradually lowers panic, but prevents you from seeing the path ahead.
  • Don't Look makes the Ram react to your gaze. Staring too long increases danger and can trigger pursuit.
  • Breathing Control appears during specific high-panic moments to calm the child.
  • Hiding depends on the right spot, controlled breathing, and current panic level.
  • Voices may be real or false, and the player learns to read tone, direction, and distortion.

Survival Guidance

There is no single answer for every scene. Sometimes running helps; sometimes hiding or closing your eyes is the better choice.

  • Do not stare at the Ram's eye for too long, especially when sound or lighting starts to distort.
  • Do not sprint without reason; excessive running can raise panic and make control harder.
  • When you hear a familiar voice, pause and judge whether the direction and tone feel natural or distorted.
  • If doors or hallways begin to shift, look for a temporary safe place instead of rushing forward.
  • Close your eyes to reduce panic when the path is known or when you need to regain control.
  • Use hiding spots carefully; loud breathing and high panic can expose you.

Accessibility and Comfort

Psychological horror can be intense for some players. We plan settings that help players tune the experience as much as possible.

  • Brightness and gamma controls to balance darkness with readability.
  • Subtitles for key text and audio moments according to the development plan.
  • Separate audio controls for effects, breathing, ambience, and music.
  • Options to reduce camera shake and selected panic effects when available.
  • Arabic and English support according to the development plan.
  • Break reminders by guidance: stop if you feel headache, dizziness, anxiety, or eye strain.

Troubleshooting and Reports

When test builds or playable materials become available, clear reports help us diagnose issues faster.

  • Include your PC specs, operating system, GPU, and RAM.
  • Describe where the issue happened and the steps immediately before it.
  • Attach the error message or screenshot if available.
  • Mention graphics and audio settings for performance, display, or sound issues.
  • Do not send save files or logs containing personal data unless support clearly requests them.
