Design first use around one task.

How to reduce instructions and help users reach the first useful outcome quickly.

Design first use around one task.

Define the first value

Users do not arrive to learn your product. They arrive to send an invitation, finish a request, check a status, or try movement in a game. Shape the first flow around that outcome.

Teach at the point of need

Replace long tours with concise guidance near the action. Dismiss it after task success while keeping it available in Help.

If every element needs explanation, review labels, order, and hierarchy before adding more instruction.

Test understanding, not recall

Give users a goal without step instructions. Observe hesitation and labels interpreted differently. Revise the flow, then repeat with a new participant.

Turn knowledge into action

Share the goal, user, and challenge, and we will review a practical starting point.
