About BENTH

Your ship is more than transport. It is everything you own.

In BENTH you start with a simple boat made of old iron and second-hand parts, then slowly turn it into a vessel that reflects how you play.

Fit storage, cannons, pumps, engines and diving gear. Lay out its compartments and decks, and prepare for what waits out on the ocean.

Beyond the harbour lie shipwrecks and sunken industrial sites, resources worth the risk, and other crews hunting for the same salvage.

You can fight, explore or pull out. But you have to decide before the storm catches you.

Core Features

Build. Sail. Dive. Fight. Salvage. Extract.

  • BUILD

    Build your ship

Start with a small hull and unlock larger ones through research. Use modular building pieces to create bridges, storage, workshops and gun platforms, and save your designs to come back to on later expeditions.

  • SAIL

    Sail into the unknown

Steer through calm water, narrow channels and rough seas. Watch the weather, use sonar to find locations, and choose your route carefully as the ocean changes around you.

  • DIVE

    Explore the deep

Leave the ship and descend in search of wrecks, resources and forgotten facilities. Pack oxygen tanks, lights and salvage tools, and never go further than your gear allows.

  • FIGHT

    Fight to survive

Defend your ship with naval guns and fight with personal weapons on deck and inside compartments. Underwater, diving tools and weapons made for the deep become part of how you survive.

  • SALVAGE

    Salvage what remains

Look for engines, metal components, devices and rare resources. Some salvage is small enough to carry; heavy equipment needs a crane and a ship that can haul it.

  • EXTRACT

    Get back in time

Reaching an extraction point is not instant safety. Your ship has to stay inside the station’s range until extraction completes, while attacks and the storm keep coming.

The Story

The ocean swallowed everything. Not its secrets.

Humanity came to this planet in search of resources and opportunity. On a world covered in water, they built harbours, industrial platforms, research stations and shipping routes.

Small settlements grew into a network of facilities reaching from the surface down into the depths. Ships carried equipment, fuel and workers between sites, while research teams found things no one had seen before.

Then came the collapse.

Strange storms appeared, communications failed, and whole ships vanished. Facilities sank, harbours were abandoned, and supply lines were cut.

The disturbance was named the Rift Tide. Its true nature is still unknown, and the ocean keeps reshaping the sea lanes and safe zones.

The age of salvagers

Years after the collapse, all that remains of the industrial age are wrecks, broken machinery and empty ports. But what the past left behind became a living for a new generation.

Salvagers gather iron, timber, engines and old weapons, and rebuild boats from mismatched parts: ships made to survive more than to look good. Some sail over the ruins of settlements. Others come back loaded with what they could recover. Many never come back at all.

What waits in the deep?

Some research facilities still transmit signals, and strange readings sometimes come from sites that should have been abandoned long ago. There are stories of old technology, rare materials and creatures recorded in no archive.

No one knows exactly what caused the collapse, or why some machines in the deep seem never to have stopped running. With every new expedition, another piece of the truth surfaces.

In BENTH, you are one of the salvagers. Not a chosen hero sent to save the planet: a person trying to survive, and to build something worth coming back for.

The World

A world that no longer belongs to humans alone

The ocean shifts from shallows littered with small wrecks to dark depths hiding unknown facilities and creatures. Every zone has its own resources, dangers and landmarks.

  1. THE SHALLOWS

    The Shallows

Fairly open water, old buoys, the remains of boats and reefs near the surface. A good place to learn to sail, dive and recover basic materials, but not free of danger.

  2. GRAVEWATER

    Ship graveyard

Broken cargo ships, sunken cranes and scattered containers. Abandoned compartments hide equipment that can reshape your ship, and the wrecks make good cover for hiding and ambushes.

  3. GLASS REEF

    The crystal reef

Strange formations, glowing reefs and creatures moving between rocks and caves. Unusual resources grow here, but some of the locals are sensitive to light and sound.

  4. IRON REACH

    The industrial sector

Platforms, factories and pumping stations that no longer do their original jobs. Heavy equipment and industrial stores lie everywhere, along with old security systems that still work.

  5. SUNKEN VAULT

    Submerged facilities

Research stations, archives and sealed corridors now underwater. Getting inside may take specialist tools, restarting machines and breaking old barriers.

  6. THE HOLLOW

    The abyss

Zones far from the light, where visibility drops, strange signals appear and large shapes move in the dark. Exceptional resources lie here, but getting in and out takes real preparation.

KeelCore

From scattered scrap to a ship that carries your story

Every ship in BENTH starts from a base hull and grows through research and design. With the KeelCore system, building is not about picking a ready-made ship: you shape its layout, functions and look.

  • 01

    Design your modules

Choose floors, walls, storage, compartments, weapon platforms and workshops. Use ready-made shapes or adjust modules to fit the space, then save them as your own blueprints.

  • 02

    Unlock larger hulls

Start with a small build area and progress through the ship research tree to unlock bigger hulls. Each size has its own strengths, costs and limits, so the biggest ship is not the best choice for every trip.

  • 03

    Run your ship

Engines, pumps, cannons and navigation gear are real systems on board. They can be damaged, and need maintenance, repair or replacement.

  • 04

    Protect what you built

A hit to the hull can flood a compartment. Seal the bulkheads, start the pumps and repair the damage before you lose control of the ship.

You can lose the ship. The knowledge and blueprints you earned stay with you.

The Expedition

One expedition can change everything

  1. BUILD

In the harbour, choose your hull or adjust your blueprint. Fit the compartments and equipment you need and decide what the ship is for.

  2. PREPARE

Load weapons, ammunition, fuel, repair and diving tools. Decide how much you are willing to risk.

  3. EXPLORE

Head out and use maps and sonar to reach wrecks, platforms, reefs and submerged sites.

  4. SALVAGE & FIGHT

Gather resources, move equipment onto the ship, and deal with creatures, guardians and hostile crews.

  5. EXTRACT

Find an extraction station and keep your ship in range until the countdown ends. Protect the crew and the cargo to the last second.

  6. REBUILD

Back home, use what you brought to craft gear, repair your ship, unlock new research and get ready for the next trip.

Combat & Survival

The fight is not only on deck

Players face many threats: hostile salvager crews, armed ships, old defence systems and sea creatures. Every environment changes the fight.

  • On foot

Use pistols, SMGs, rifles, shotguns and precision weapons, plus melee tools, to defend yourself and storm locations.

  • Naval combat

Mount cannons on compatible platforms, carry ammunition to them and fire them yourself. Disabling a ship’s engine or damaging its equipment can be worth more than trying to sink it.

  • Underwater

Water changes how you move, see and fight. Use diving tools, spearguns and the right gear to defend yourself, or avoid the threat and get back to your ship.

  • Survival

Watch your oxygen, depth and gear. Survival is not about bullets alone: it is about preparation, knowing the environment, and pulling back at the right moment.

Rift Tide

The ocean waits for no one

An irregular storm front moves across the expedition area and shifts the safe sea lanes over time. The route that took you to the wreck may not be the way home.

Read the signals, use your navigation gear, and choose between chasing a bigger haul or leaving with what you already have.

The real danger is not always ahead of you. Sometimes it is the way back that has closed.

Craft & Progress

Every piece of scrap could become part of your next trip

Gather metal plates, mechanical parts, wiring, devices and marine materials, and turn them into useful gear. Use the harbour workshops to make ship parts, repair tools, weapons and diving equipment, and unlock research for new modules, engines, storage and fittings.

Progress your way

  • Ship engineering and hulls
  • Salvage and heavy cargo
  • Weapons and naval guns
  • Diving and deep exploration
  • Power, navigation and protection

Progress is not only about hitting harder. It is about widening your options.

Solo or Crew

One ship. Many decisions.

Sail alone in a small, easy-to-run ship, or team up with a crew to run a bigger one. While one player steers, another works the guns and a third repairs equipment or hauls salvage. No one is locked into a role: crew members switch jobs as the situation demands.

But teamwork does not remove the risk. Every minute a crew spends in a dangerous spot gives other crews a chance to find it.

When the ship goes down

You may lose your ship. The story does not end there.

If the ship sinks, any equipment and cargo you did not save can be lost. In the right conditions, a survivor can grab a small emergency case holding two eligible items and try to reach a personal rescue.

The case is not just an inventory slot: you carry it through the water, and you can lose it on the way. You might come back with everything, with enough for a fresh start, or with nothing. That is the risk of extraction.

Crew Rewards

Success is shared. Choosing is part of the reward.

When a crew makes it back, the shared salvage appears on a dedicated split screen. Crew members pick what they want and agree how to share resources, with a fair way to settle disputes over rare items. Personal extracted belongings stay with their owners under the game’s rules.
